I came home and sat at the table with my father. Mike ‘Big Mike’ Saviello: I lived in Jersey. I spoke to Mike about Astor Place’s history and current situation. He not only organizes appointments but also keeps customers coming back with his warm personality. Mike Saviello, nicknamed “Big Mike,” is the manager and face of Astor Place. The large area can be overwhelming for new customers, but longtime clients know which stylist they want and where to go. There are over 50 barber chairs laid out across the shop. The shop is bustling with barbers and customers of all ages. Pictures and paintings of a diverse array of New York icons - from Chris Rock to David Blaine - cover the walls. The legendary barbershop has been operating for nearly 75 years, serving everyone from punks to rappers to politicians to NYU students. Lisa is also an avid Texas Rangers fan and going to games is a must.New York City’s mom-and-pop stores are immortalized into historical institutions through tourism, movies and music. She loves spending time at Broken Bow and enjoys hiking the nature trails there, an experience that always lifts the stress of a hectic busy lifestyle and brings her closer in her walk with God. Lisa made Midlothian her home 15 years ago and is happy to be working so close to home. Lisa recently joined the Salon 180 Midlothian team after years of working in Duncanville, her hometown. It is her goal to make sure the women that entrust her with their hair experience an encouraging and positive atmosphere. However, she loves creating beautiful styles on all types of hair. Since she has naturally curly hair, she understands the trials and sometimes the frustration of dealing with this type of hair. Lisa specializes in naturally curly hair and foil highlighting. Her love for offering her clients a relaxed comfortable experience has been present since day one. Lisa began her career as a hairstylist over 30 years ago.
